Pursuit of Perfection Week 5-Anna Ransone

 

Lexus of Richmond’s week 5 nominee for the Pursuit of Perfection Scholarship Award is Anna Ransone, a Senior at Blessed Sacrament Huguenot Catholic School. She is an outstanding scholar, and is enrolled in many AP and College Dual Enrollment courses. She is also a member of the National Honors Society (Vice President)  and the National Spanish Honors Society (President). For her other extra-curriculars, she is a student ambassador, participates in the Athletes for Athletes Association, and is a member of many other clubs, including the Drama club, Spanish Club, and Model United Nations. As the Vice President and Secretary of her class, she is also very involved in her Student Government Association.

Anna also has a lot of involvement in sports. She is the current Captain of her school’s volleyball team, swim team, and she participates in competitive tennis. She is hoping to become a nurse, after her positive experiences volunteering at the Bon Secours, St. Francis ER. Anna also volunteers with Angel Tree, Backpacks for Love, Stop Hunger Now, and many other organizations, and really enjoys being involved in her community.

Pursuit of Perfection Week 4-Michael Benos

Michael Benos-Week 4 Nominee

 

Lexus of Richmond’s Pursuit of Perfection Award continues into its fourth week, and this week’s nominee is Michael Benos from the Maggie Walker Governor’s School. Because of his 4.54 GPA, he is a member of the National Honors Society,  as well as the Spanish, English, Science and Math Honors Societies. His primary sport is tennis, in which he is the Co-Captain for the varsity team at Maggie Walker. He also plays recreational soccer, and enjoys being in the Ultimate Frisbee Club. His other extra-curriculars include being a Virginia Aerospace and Technology Scholar, a Mission Manager and Peer Mentor, and a Virginia Space Coast Scholar. He is also very involved in the Forensics Team, Model Congress, and Spanish Club. He hopes to attend MIT, the University of Virginia, and many other prestigious schools.

His outreach into the community involves mentoring many groups of high-school students. He founded the Hispanic Outreach and Language Assistance Club (HOLA), and he works with and mentors a First Lego League at schools in the Richmond area. He is also a Robotics Team Class Mentor, for the Math Science Innovation Center.

Pursuit of Perfection Week 3-Seeley Yoo

Seeley Yoo- Week 3 Nominee

Lexus of Richmond’s Pursuit of Perfection award goes out to outstanding students in their senior year of high school. This week’s nominee is Seeley Yoo from St. Catherine’s. With a 4.5 GPA she excels in academics. Because of her GPA she is a member of the Cum Laude Society, is a National Merit Scholar, and has made it on the Head’s List for every term. She has even been awarded with the Wellesley College Book Award, and is an AP Scholar with Distinction.

Her primary sport is soccer, and she is committed to Davidson College in North Carolina to participate in soccer there. Until then, she is finishing her senior year as the Captain of the Varsity Soccer Team at St. Catherine’s and continues to participate in Club Soccer, as well as the Olympic Development Program. During her time in those sport organizations, she has achieved the honors necessary to compete in soccer nationally. Outside of school, her community service includes volunteering for the U4 Richmond Strikers Program, the Special Olympics, the Richmond Kickers Camp, and she even participated in a mission trip to Tanzania.

Pursuit of Perfection Week 2-Noah O’Neill

Lexus of Richmond’s Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award nominee for week 2 is Noah O’Neill from St. Christopher’s School. Noah ranks second in his class, and has earned High Honors for every marking period in his high school career. He is also the Student Council President, a Middle School Mentor, and is an avid chess player, being a member of St. Christopher’s Chess Club and a Tournament Chess Player.

His primary sports are soccer, basketball, and golf. He is a member of the Varsity Team in all three sports and his team won the State Championship in the fall of 2014 while playing varsity soccer. That same year he was named team offensive MVP.

He is also well-traveled, and has been to Japan to aid tsunami victims and has hosted other Japanese students who travel to Richmond. He also traveled to the Dominican Republic for the Wine to Water service trip, and helped build and distribute water purification systems.

Pursuit of Perfection Week 1- Juliana Jiranek

Lexus of Richmond’s Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award is beginning its 21st year, and the first nominee is Juliana Jiranek, from St. Catherine’s School. She has a GPA of 4.55, is in the top 10% of her class, and has Academic High Honors, which means no grades below an A-. For sports, she participates in Field Hockey and Lacrosse at the Varsity level. She is also involved in Virginia Superstars/Richmond Strikers Club Lacrosse and Saints Hockey Rocks Club Field Hockey.  Her extra-curricular activities include editing the school newspaper, Arcadian, and being the captain of the Horseback Riding Competition Team. She also plays Piano and is a member of Students for Environmental Awareness.

Juliana is hoping to go to Princeton University or the University of Virginia, as her top choices, and she is also looking to go to Duke University, Wake Forest University, Dartmouth College and Washington and Lee University. Juliana also volunteers at the Central Virginia Food Bank, and actively participates in the Food Drive for the Central Virginia Food Bank.

Stony Point Customer Appreciation Weekend

This Saturday August 8th and Sunday August 9th, Lexus of Richmond is partnering with Stony Point Fashion Park to host a customer appreciation weekend! Stop by the Customer Service Kiosk near the Bare Minerals store, and show your keys to receive a special gift. Supplies will be there while they last.

We are also partnering with Stony Point to donate school supplies to the Metro Richmond Boys and Girls Clubs. Lexus of Richmond will match up to $750 of the donated items. Some of the most needed supplies are notebooks, colored markers, pencils, pocket folders, rulers, glue sticks, and tissues. Our Lexus tent will be set up outside of Anthropologie and Brio where the 2015 NX will be ready to fill up with school supplies! Our Technology and Delivery Specialists will also be there to answer any questions about the event or the cars. We look forward to seeing you there!
