Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award Nominee Week #17 – Richard Bailey from St. Christopher’s School!

Congratulations Richard Bailey from St. Christopher’s School, our week 17 nominee for the Lexus of Richmond Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award!

Richard is an outstanding student-athlete, for which he has received a great deal of recognition. With a 4.6 GPA and a score of 2280 on his SATs, he is an AP Scholar with Distinction, a National Merit Scholar Semi-Finalist, a Continental Calculus Contest high scorer, first place winner of his school’s Cyber Foundation Award, and a recipient of the University of Virginia’s Jefferson Book Award to name a few of his accolades.  Richard has been active outside of the classroom in the Boy Scouts (now an Eagle Scout with Bronze Palms and a member of the Order of the Arrow Brotherhood), as a member of his school’s Robotics Club and as a member of the Battle of the Brains team. He has a passion for music and is quite an accomplished harp player. As a member of the American Youth Harp Ensemble, Richard has performed in Vienna and Salzburg, Austria, at the World Harp Congress in Sydney, Australia, the Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, and at Carnegie Hall. Also athletically gifted, he ran varsity cross-country and varsity track for his school; but his real passion is for swimming and diving. He is the team captain of his varsity swim team, as well as his varsity dive team which was named 2nd Team All-Metro and placed in the top 10 in National Championships. Richard gives back to the community by volunteering his time for a number of programs, such as CARITASVA Department of Parks and Recreation Youth Conservation Corps, and Camp Selah Ministries, among others. Additionally, he plays harp at various churches, hospitals, nursing homes and rehabilitation centers throughout the region. In 2012, Richard was named one of Style Weekly’s “16 Under 16” in recognition of his numerous achievements.

Congratulations Katherine Golladay from Collegiate School, our week 16 nominee for the Lexus of Richmond Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award!

Katherine is an accomplished scholar and has received a number of accolades for her academic success. With a 4.63 GPA, she has made honor roll every year, was Summa Cum Laude at East Grand Rapids High School and Cum Laude Society at Collegiate and has received the Dartmouth Book Award and AP Scholar with Distinction Award. She has been a member of several clubs and programs, including the Key Club, Spanish Club, Ronald McDonald House of Western Michigan Youth Advisory Board, Michigan Youth in Government, East Grand Rapids Youth Development Programs, and the Collegiate School International Emerging Leaders Conference. Katherine is a well-rounded athlete having participated and excelled in several sports, including lacrosse, cross-country, winter track, basketball and field hockey. She received the Guard Coaches Award for varsity basketball, went to the State Championships and received All-Conference Honorable Mention on her varsity cross-country team, and on her varsity lacrosse team she was awarded First Team All-State, All-LIS, and LIS Champions, as well as Second Team All-State, All-Conference, State and Conference Champions. Katherine has been active in the community as a volunteer for the SPCA, Faison School for Autism, Clark Retirement Community, Oak Grade Bellmeade Project, and the John Ball Zoo.

Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award Nominee Week #15 – Sarah Goodrich from Mills E. Godwin High School!

Congratulations Sarah Goodrich from Mills E. Godwin High School, our week 15 nominee for the Lexus of Richmond Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award!

With a 4.79 GPA, Sarah has excelled academically throughout her high school career as an all-A honor roll student (every year), a member of the National Honor Society as well as the Math and French National Honor Societies, a recipient of the Social Studies Scholar Award and the Certificat de Reussite on the National French Exam, and having scored in the top 5% in the nation on her PSAT. She has been a member of the Keyettes, Medical, and French Clubs, and was also VP of her class. Sarah has been successful on the field as well: a member of her school’s JV team, Sarah took up running between seasons to stay in shape and had a great deal of success on the track. As a runner she earned numerous accolades including the Coach’s Award, 1st Team All-Metro, All-State, All-Region and All-Conference and was a member of the state champion team for cross-country. In track and field she earned Most Valuable Runner, All-State, All- Region, and All-Conference, and was the 2014 Indoor State Champion (4×800) and the 2014 Outdoor State Runner-up (4×800). Outside of school, Sarah has been active in the community by volunteering for several organizations including the Children’s Museum of Virginia, BARK, and Feedmore. Sarah will be running for William and Mary in the fall.

Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award Nominee Week #14 – Logan Harvey from Douglas S. Freeman High School!

Congratulations Logan Harvey of Douglas S. Freeman High School, our week 14 nominee for the Lexus of Richmond Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award!

With a 4.8 GPA, Logan has received recognition for his academic prowess as a member of the National Honor Society, a recipient of the Advanced Placement Scholar Award, and as one of only 54 students selected to attend the Douglas S. Freeman Center for Leadership, Government, and Global Economics. He is an online editor for his school’s newspaper, an intern at the Virginia Sports Complex, a varsity field hockey manager, and is a member of the Friends of Rachel Club. An accomplished athlete, Logan has excelled on the field in baseball. Captain of his varsity team, he has played as starting catcher since the 9th grade, and has since been awarded 1st Team All-District, 1st Team All-Conference, 1st Team All-Region, 1st Team All-Metro, 1st Team VHSL All-State, Richmond Times Dispatch Player of the Week, the Charles Eskridge Award, and is a 3-time National Champion with the Evoshield Canes National Travel Baseball Organization. He is also active in the community, and has volunteered his time for several organizations including iCan Bike, Little Feet Meet, the Cullather Brain Cancer Foundation, and has individually raised money for ALS research. Logan will be attending Wake Forest University, where he has signed to play baseball on an athletic scholarship.

Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award Nominee Week #13 – Josh Barlow from the Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School!

With a 4.5 GPA, Josh is an accomplished scholar as a National Merit Semifinalist, a member of the National Honor Society as well as the Math, English and German National Honor Societies, an AP Scholar with Distinction and a National Spanish Exam medalist. He is also a member of several school clubs, including the Key Club and German Club, a member of Walker Model Congress, and he took a mentorship with Dr. Cheatham at the VCU Sports Medicine Clinic. A well-rounded athlete, Josh has played multiple sports during his high school career, including volleyball, soccer, basketball and swimming. Among other accomplishments, he has excelled in volleyball and soccer in particular: as team captain and team MVP, 1st Team All-Conference, 1st Team All-Region and 2nd Team All-State for his school’s volleyball team, team captain for the Richmond Volleyball Club, and captain of his JV soccer team as well as his Richmond Kickers soccer team in the 9th and 10th grades. Josh has served his community as a Spanish teacher at St. Andrew’s School, a volunteer for Stop Hunger Now, an MFuge Mission Trip participant, a Woodlake UMC Vacation Bible School teacher and a Woodlake UMC Nursery worker. Although he is unsure of which university he will be attending, Josh is interested in going into Sports Medicine.

Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award Nominee Week #12 – Krishna Ravindra from Henrico High School!

Congratulations Krishna Ravindra from Henrico High School, our week 12 nominee for the Lexus of Richmond Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award!

With a GPA of 5.16, Krishna has achieved a great deal in the classroom, as an all-A honor roll student throughout his high school career, as a member of the National Honor Society as well as the National Science, Math, Spanish and History Honor Societies, president of the Future Health Professionals Club, a member of the Model United Nations Club, and a member of the Spirit Club. Krishna has been a dedicated soccer player from a very young age. He was a member of the Kicker’s Strikers Elite Travel Team by age 8, and continued on to be the 2nd place winner in the Jefferson Cup Tournament, 1st place winner in the Bethesda Adidas Tournament, captain of the Henrico H.S. Men’s Varsity Team, and was Second Team All-District, and Capital District All-Academic Team. A well-rounded athlete, he also earned his black belt in Tae Kwon Do by the time he was in the 9th grade. Krishna is very active in the community, having volunteered for the Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center, Students for Students, Habitat Restore, Community Kitchen, Young Einstein’s Tutoring Program, and a Courts for Kids Costa Rica service trip, along with having coordinated a soccer tournament fundraiser for the Children’s Hospital of Richmond.
