Lexus of Richmond’s Leadership Award Week 19 – Alyse Armentrout

Alyse Armentrout of Atlee High School is Lexus of Richmond’s week 19 nominee for our Leadership Award. Ranked in her class’ top 10; she has a 4.6 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society, National BETA Club, and German National Honor Society. In 2016, Alyse was chosen for the Randolph College Book Award as an outstanding junior who excels in academics and is a leader outside the classroom. She received a silver award in 2016 for the National German Exam Silberkunde. Alyse has been recognized nationally for four years for her high achievements on the National German Exam.

Throughout high school, Alyse has played varsity basketball as a center and is currently the team captain. Earlier this year, she scored her 1,000th career point for Atlee. In 2016, she was named the VHSL Conference Player of the Year and Atlee High’s MVP. She earned a spot on the First-Team All Conference, First-Team All Region, and Second-Team All State. All four years of school, Alyse has been on the All-Academic Team. In Addition, Alyse is a 4-year varsity soccer player as a midfielder. Since sophomore year, Alyse has been her class secretary in the student government. She is involved in the BETA Club where she is the President and in the DECA Executive Officer Council in which she is the VP of Finance.

Outside of school and athletics, Alyse is overtly involved in the community. She and a fellow student organized and executed a tutoring program for 2nd graders at Cool Spring Elementary. The program allows for high school students to assist the children with reading, spelling and math. Alyse has been in involved in the Shady Grove TEAMeffort Mission; in 2015 the group went to New Orleans and in 2016 they traveled to Blue Knob, PA. She has worked with Little Big Feet Meet as an ambassador for the Special Olympics. Other organizations she has spent time with include: Stop Hunger Now, Ruriteens, BARK, Upward Sports, and Fox Holiday Socks.

Alyse has won a dinner for two and is now in the running for the $10,000 scholarship. Lexus of Richmond’s LUV Commercials

With the help of Jay Endicott at Fox Richmond and 288 Sports Group, Lexus of Richmond has produced 5 commercials for our LUV’s. Each tv spot is aimed at a different audience; young adults, moms, dads, and families. The final commercial is a combination of the previous four spots. All of the ads feature our employees and/or customers.

Lexus of Richmond Leadership Award Week 18 – Polina Bukina

Lexus of Richmond’s week 18 nominee for the Leadership Award is Polina Bukina of Mills E Godwin High School Specialty Center for Medical Sciences. With her 4.367 GPA, Polina is a member of the National Honor Society, Math Honor Society, BETA Society, and is the Spanish Honor Society President. She took home the Old Dominion Special Award for Non-Destructive Testing at the Metro Richmond Science Fair and 3rd place in the Medical and Health category at the Virginia Junior Academy of Science.

Polina has played on Godwin’s varsity volleyball team all throughout high school and was the co-captain in 11th and 12th grade. She was named to the 2nd Team All-Conference in her junior and senior seasons. 10th – 12th grade she was selected for the All Conference Academic Team. She was the teams defensive player of the year for her junior season, and the team won the conference championship the same year. She is a tutor at her school through the NHS, Godwin’s Key Club treasurer, and Godwin’s Medical Club Vice President. Polina has spent 155 hours as a lab research assist at the Godwin Research Lab where they are working on cancer cell research.

She has spent time volunteering for the Children’s Hospital of Richmond and is currently finalizing her EMT certification and volunteering for the Lakeside Rescue Squad. Polina has spent time as a volunteer for the Special Olympics through the Richmond Volleyball Club. She has volunteered at her local elementary school and has tutored other students at her high school.

VCU Basketball vs Davidson

Lexus of Richmond joined VCU on Saturday, February 11th for their 74 to 60 victory over Davidson.

We were able to showcase a 2017 Lexus NX 200t F Sport outside the stadium. Inside we let fans enter our contest to win an all expenses paid weekend in New York City. The lucky winner will receive transportation, hotel accommodations, a gift card for dinner, and tickets to a Knicks game for themselves and a guest.

During the game, the Rams continuously fought off Davidson to come out on top 74-60. This win marked the 6th win in a row for the Rams. We are pleased to sponsor this great team and be a part of RamNation!

Lexus of Richmond Leadership Award Week 17 – Dillon Powell

Lexus of Richmond’s week 17 nominee for the Leadership Award is Dillon Powell of Midlothian High School. He is the anticipated valedictorian with a 5.017 GPA and a SAT score of 1510 of a possible 1600.  He is a member of the National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, Math National Honor Society, German National Honor Society and Social Studies Honor Society. He was named the AP Student of the Year in his junior year, and is currently enrolled in Stanford’s Pre-Collegiate Studies Program for multivariable differential calculus.

Dillon has played lacrosse at Midlothian since freshman year and is currently the captain, and he even was involved in making it an official sport at the school. During his 10th grade season, the team won the Conference Title and went on to be a state semifinalist. Dillon was selected for the All Conference team and the All South Regional team after his 10th and 11th grade seasons. While at Midlothian, Dillon has held student council positions all four years of high school. He has also founded two clubs at his school; the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Club and the Chess Club. Dillon was selected as a Junior Marshall where he took part in organizing the graduation ceremony.

All throughout high school, Dillon has coached children’s and young teenagers’ lacrosse teams through the Chesterfield Youth League. He has also partnered with Sportable to assist and coach wheelchair lacrosse teams and disabled swimming teams; he also managed equipment for the lacrosse team for Sportable. Through founding the Midlothian High Alzheimer’s and Dementia Awareness Club, Dillon has been helping educate other students on the effects of the illness. He plans on organizing charity events and tying them into his spring lacrosse games.

Lexus of Richmond’s Leadership Award Week 16 – Lauren Golmon

Lexus of Richmond’s Leadership Award week 16 nominee is Lauren Golmon of Glen Allen High School. She is currently in her graduating class’ top 10 with a 4.5 GPA. Having been on the A Honor Roll throughout high school, Lauren is a member of the National Honor Society and Rho Kappa a History Honor Society. She has also received an AP Scholar with Distinction award. She was the State Champion in the Governor’s Challenge for Personal Finance where she was recognized as the Individual High Scorer.

During her freshman year, Lauren played JV and Varsity softball, and she earned an MVP award for the JV team. She has been on the varsity team all four years playing 1st base and catcher and has earned the most improved player award in her 10th grade season. After 10th grade she was selected for the 2nd Team All-Conference and Academic All-Conference Teams. After her junior season, Lauren was named to the 1st Team All-Conference and Academic All-Conference Teams as well as the 2nd Team All-Region and Academic All Region Teams. Since 10th grade, Lauren has been a member of the Key Club as a grade level director for two years and currently the club secretary. She is also a Student Congress Representative as an Executive Caucus Member. Lauren created the first ever Math Bowl at Glen Allen HS during her sophomore year and is currently the Vice President of Mu Alpha Theta.

Lauren spends time with Partners for Success by tutoring other students in all subjects to help them prep for exams and finals. She also helps the senior community in Glen Allen by teaching technology classes in order to help the class better understand safe internet practices. Recently, Lauren has volunteered at the Memorial Regional Medical Center. She has worked the front desk, answers call bells and discharges patients.

Lexus of Richmond Leadership Award Week 15 – Frost Wood

Frost Wood of St. Christopher’s School is Lexus of Richmond’s week 15 nominee for the Leadership Award Scholarship. With his current 4.0 GPA, Frost is a  National Merit Scholarship Commended Scholar and an AP Scholar with Honors. In 2015, he was selected for the National Academy of Future Scientists and Technologists Award of Excellence. He also attended the International Boys School Coalition Conference in 2016 as he was selected by the school faculty to be St. Chris’ delegate at the conference in Vancouver.

While at St. Chris, Frost has played varsity soccer all four years and is the current captain. In 2016, he was chosen for the All State 2nd team, and in 2015 and 2016 he was a part of the All Virginia Prep League Team. The team took the State Title in 2014 and 2016. They are also the Prep League Champs in 2014 – 2016. Frost is also a member of the varsity swim team all throughout high school and is the current captain. Additionally he competed on the varsity track team for 4 years. Frost has taken part in the St. ChristoCURE’s Cancer Awareness Team for 3 years which participates in the Monument Avenue 10k. He has been involved in student council as a Vice President for 2 years, and he is the President of the Political Awareness Club.

Active in the community, Frost has spent time tutoring and mentoring boys in St. Chris’ lower school as well as elementary students through Saturday Academy. He has spent time with FeedMore working in the kitchens and food bank. He has also worked on a landscape project  at the Peter Paul Development Center. During the summer of 2013, Frost traveled to Costa Rica for a week long service and immersion trip.
