Pursuit of Perfection Week 28-Allison Renehan

Lexus of Richmond’s Pursuit of Perfection Week 28 nominee is Allison Renehan from Henrico High School. She has a 5.09 GPA, and IBMYP awards in Spanish and Extended Mathematics. She has also been on the straight-A Honor Roll since 2009.

Allison’s volunteer work includes being on the Susan G. Komen Teen Advisory Board, where she works with other teens to increase awareness about breast cancer in their age group. She is also very active with her church, Shady Grove United Methodist Church, and their mission trips to various parts of the country.

She is a member of Henrico High School’s Varsity Field Hockey and Soccer teams, and she is also a captain for both of those teams as well. Virginia Tech and UVA are among some of her top choices for schools, and she has been accepted into their engineering programs.

Pursuit of Perfection Week 27-Jamie Massey

Lexus of Richmond’s Pursuit of Perfection Week 27 nominee is Jamie Massey from James River High School. With a GPA of 4.28, he has received many academic awards including: the AP Scholar With Distinction Award, Silver Award in the National Latin Exam, AP Latin Award, and the AP Environmental Science Award.

Rowing is his primary sport, and he is the Men’s Team Captain at James River High School. One of his greatest accomplishments includes working with Sportable, a Paralympic sports club, where he coaches disabled athletes in rowing. Jamie has also been a volunteer at the VMFA, where he worked as a 3-D technician for the Forbidden City Exhibit. He hopes to go into engineering and he is looking at several schools to potentially attend, including the University of Virginia, Princeton, Yale, and many others.

Pursuit of Perfection Week 26-Caroline Armstrong

Caroline Armstrong is Lexus of Richmond’s Week 26 Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award nominee. As a senior at Deep Run High School, she has made many great accomplishments throughout her school career, including straight A’s is all of her high school coursework with 12 AP classes.

As the captain of both the Cross Country and Indoor Track Team, she has been given many awards in sportsmanship and broken school records for several of the track events. Even after overcoming major injuries, she was still able to make many great achievements.

She is passionate about helping the environment, and is the President of her school’s Environmental Club. She also volunteers with the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden and tutors with  both the National Honor Society and the Spanish National Honor Society. Caroline is committed to attending Duke University in the fall.

Pursuit of Perfection Week 25-Ross Abrash

Ross Abrash from St. Christopher’s School is the week 25 nominee for the Lexus of Richmond Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award.  He has earned high honors every year for his excellent GPA. For extracurriculars, he is a representative for his Student Council and is an Admissions Student Ambassador.

His primary sport is baseball, where he plays an outfield position and is the Team Captain this year. Another organization he is very involved with is the Bnai Birth Youth Organization, where he has served as a Chapter Recruitment Officer and a Chapter Communications Officer.

Ross’s volunteer work includes working with the Houlagan’s Dog Rescue Program, River Park Services Clean Up, New England Center for Homeless Veterans, and he has been a Special Olympics Volunteer. Ross will be attending the University of Richmond in the fall, where he will play on the baseball team.

Pursuit of Perfection Week 24-Joanna Yan

Lexus of Richmond’s week 24 Pursuit of Perfection nominee is Joanna Yan from St. Catherine’s School. Academically, she is in the Honor Roll at St. Catherine’s and is a Nation Merit Scholar Recipient. She is also an AP Scholar with Distinction.

Swimming is her athletic passion, and she is the captain of the Varsity Girl’s Swim Team at St. Catherine’s. She has not only broken records at St. Catherine’s with her 200 M Freestyle and 200 M  Medley, but she has also achieved being in the National Top 16 in 200 M Freestyle Relay.

For her extra-curriculars, she has an Internship with Virginia Ear, Nose and Throat, is a Model UN Secretary for St. Catherine’s School, and is a member of the Organization of Chinese Americans Central Virginia Chapter. Some of her volunteering highlights include traveling to the Dominican Republic for Wine to Water, which is an organization that helps give fresh water to 3rd world countries. She has many schools that she is considering, and she is hoping to become a Pediatric Surgeon.

Pursuit of Perfection Week 23-Annemarie Beran

Annemarie Beran

Lexus of Richmond’s Week 23 Pursuit of Perfection Nominee is Annemarie Beran from J.R. Tucker High School. Her academic awards include The National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and she has received several AP Scholar recognitions.

She is the captain of the JR Tucker Varsity Basketball team, and has been captain since her sophomore year. During her basketball participation she has been awarded for scoring 1000 points and has been the MVP for multiple tournaments. She is committed to play basketball at Christopher Newport University.

One of her biggest accomplishments in volunteering is working with J. R. Tucker High School’s “Way Back Pat’s” Fundraiser program, in coordination with the Pat Summit Foundation, to raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer’s. In the span of a few years, she has helped raise an incredible $15,000 with her efforts.

Pursuit of Perfection Week 22-Claire Robinson

Claire RobinsonLexus of Richmond’s Week 22 nominee for the Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award is Claire Robinson from The Math and Science Specialty Center at Clover Hill High School. She began her athletic career with soccer. However, after suffering from some concussions, she had to switch to Cross Country and Track & Field where she still excelled and earned many awards, like MVP of Indoor/Outdoor Track. On the academic side, she has a 4.52 GPA and is a member of the Distinguished Honor Roll, several National Honor Societies, and has been awarded the Math and Science Outstanding Achievement Award.

Claire’s community service includes working with the Richmond Animal League on their Dog Team, being a SAFE Teen Ambassador, and working for many other larger organizations like Angel Tree and Relay for Life. She is hoping to attend the University of Virginia, The College of William and Mary, or Virginia Tech.

Pursuit of Perfection Week 21-Emma Call

Lexus of Richmond’s Week 21 nominee for the Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award is Emma Call from Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School. Emma has made a big impact in athletics and extra curriculars at Maggie Walker Governor’s School and is involved in the National Honor Society and the National Italian Honor Society. She is also an artist, and has won the Gold Key Scholastic Art and Writing Award for Drawing and Illustration. As the Captain of the Maggie Walker Cross Country Team, she has achieved being the Cross Country 2A State Champion. For Indoor and Outdoor track, she has also achieved many awards in the 1600m, 1000m, and 800m competitions. She is a Co-Founder and President for the Maggie Walker Student Health Club.

In community service, she participates with many organizations, including Hands on Greater Richmond, the James River Association, CARITAS and the Maymont Foundation. Emma is committed to run at the University of Virginia starting this fall.
