Robins Jr. Golf Program was created by the Fore Children Foundation, which is a non-profit organization. They aim to not only teach children the fundamentals of golf, but to also teach them fundamental life lessons like cooking, fitness, music and art. Participants in this program range from 5 to 17 years old, and have options to spend full days, half-days, or even spend overnights at the golf course in their top-notch facilities and dorms.

The staff is headed by PGA and Director of the program Leighann Albaugh, Chief Development Officer Eddie Swink, President of Fore Children Dan Niccolucci, and twelve other skilled PGA/PGM interns and counselors. For biographies and information on all of the staff members please visit the Fore Children website.

If you would like an application or more information about the Robins Jr. Program and scholarship, please visit and go to our Independence tab. Scholarship applications are due by Monday June 22nd. Lexus Partners with Independence Golf Club.

We are excited to announce that, Lexus of Richmond is playing a big part at Independence Golf Club, beginning this fall. We are providing white CT Hybrids for player assistance vehicles. These “high end” player assistance vehicles will replace the outdated golf cart, providing the perfect luxury experience, as you navigate through the course.

Independence Golf Club is located on the border of Midlothian and Powhatan counties, re-opening on Monday, September 22nd.

Since closing in May for renovations, Owners and Brother, Giff and Alan Breed took the time to not only update, but make changes for the club’s future.

With plans to host more weddings and events, a 3,200 square foot Banquet hall is being constructed. This hall will overlook the golf course for a breath-taking view. Along with another exciting plan, a spa is in the works on the ground floor.

Also the club’s restaurant is refreshed, the all-new Founders Bistro. This restaurant has a new name, style and chef. With hopes to push the restaurant into the future, they can now cater to all needs, even a causal, Friday night dinner with your significant other.

Of course there are new greens. New grass will be installed on the course, which will eliminate 40 percent of the existing bunkers.

But the highlight of these plans, are the white CT Hybrids, that are upgrading the golf carts. These CT’s can take you anywhere you need to go on the property in style, while also keeping the environment green.

With the new renovations and additions of our White CT Hybrids, Independence Golf Club is sure to be the most beautiful place to be in Richmond; from Sunday golf sessions to an upscale Saturday wedding.

We hope to see you there, cruising in one of our white CT Hybrids. #RVALexus #LexusofRichmond #RVALexusandIndependenceGolf

Maintaining Your Lexus NAVIGATION System

You’ve heard the cliche “If it’s not broke, don’t fix it!”  That makes plenty of sense doesn’t it, but let’s consider something.  Why would you allow it to break or lose functionality?

Maintaining your NAVIGATION/BLUETOOTH system is as important as keeping up with your vehicle’s maintenance.  Think of your NAVIGATION/BLUETOOTH system as your wisdom teeth.  They always seem to let you down at the most inopportune time (i.e. while on vacation, or while traveling in an unfamiliar city).

It is best practice to come into the dealership to have the following performed periodically:

  • Remove old cellular devices from your vehicle’s BLUETOOTH system that you’re not using.
  • Clear out stored PREVIOUS DESTINATIONS that you will never revisit to make room for others.
  • Remove your phonebook contacts from your vehicle and reinstall to ensure your contacts and phone numbers are up to date.
  • Reset your speed dials to ensure you have your favorite contacts are set.
  • Reboot your NAVIGATION/BLUETOOTH system and your cellular phone to maximize connectivity and longevity.
  • Update your NAVIGATION maps with the newest version to ensure addresses you need can be located (fees apply).  Locate new developments, restaurants, streets and malls for cities and states that you travel in, are a few of the benefits the upgrade provides.

All these functions can be performed for you by Lexus of Richmond’s TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST within minutes at no cost to you (with the exception of the NAVIGATION map upgrade).

If you’re interested in having your NAVIGATION maps upgraded to the newest versions, please feel free to call our BDC Team directly at (804) 323-7695 for pricing and availability.

Tech Tip: Utilizing the 2013 Lexus Enform App Suite

From this delivery forward, Lexus will be including the Lexus Enform App Suite in models equipped with the NAVIGATION system.  The Enform App Suite includes apps such as Bing, iHeart Radio, Movie, Open Table, Pandora, Yelp and Facebook Places.  All your favorite apps, located in your favorite spot, your Lexus vehicle.

The Lexus Enform App Suite is compatible with the iPhone, Android and most Blackberry devices.  The App for your smart phone is FREE, available in your phone’s App Store, and easy to use.

For more information please feel free to contact me, Kim Tydings, Technology Specialist at (804) 323-8000!  Thanks for watching!
