Congratulations to our 6th Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award nominee – Kira Tomenchok of Trinity Episcopal School! Kira has a 4.6 GPA at Trinity, where she is ranked in the top ten in her class. She is an AP scholar, and is a member of the National Honor Society, the Spanish Honor Society and the Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society. Kira is involved with the Students for Environmental Action (SEA) Club. Kira has been swimming since before she could walk – and is the Captain of her school swim team. She has held the school record in 100 backstroke since 9th grade. In the community, Kira donates her time through the SEA Club, gardening and recycling, and even helped the school raise money to acquire their first solar panel. She is also involved with Making Waves for Cancer and the Special Olympics. Allie has a 4.56 GPA at Trinity, where she in the National Honors, Mu Alpha Theta & Spanish Honor Societies. Allie has been Captain of her JV and Varsity Volleyball teams, and a defense player of the Lacrosse team 9-12th grades. Aside from academics & athletics, Allie has been an active Trinity SEA Club member, and a new student orientation volunteer. She also volunteers her time in the community through Vacation Bible School and a service trip to Puerto Rico. Lexus of Richmond celebrated and welcomed our new vehicle Lexus owners of the past six months with a breakfast this past Saturday along with technology sessions one on one, complimentary car washes, & prize drawing. General manager of Lexus of Richmond, Tom Flood, welcomed our new Lexus vehicle owners, along with Tommy Kerns, our service manager, handing out prizes from a drawing that included UVA sports tickets, Stony Point Fashion Park gift cards, Wawa gift cards, Lexus mugs, new car kit…and more! Technology specialists and technicians were on hand for personal sessions reviewing hands on training for technology in Lexus vehicles after a warm & welcoming breakfast from the Boka Taco Truck. New owner questions for the extensive Lexus technology in vehicles were welcomed and answered on the crisp morning. We are delighted to have you join the Lexus of Richmond family! Stephen has a 4.963 GPA and is a member of the Spanish and Math Honor Societies. He is a member of the Science, Math and Technology Center at Godwin, and is a PSAT Principal Scholar. Some of his extra-curricular activities include the Richmond STEM fair, the Beta Club and Spanish Club–and Stephen is also a Junior Statesman for the America Club. He is an All-District Varsity Lacrosse Goalie and was selected to compete in the Richmond Chapter US Lacrosse All-Star Game. Meet our 3rd Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award nominee – Danny Polk of Hanover High School. Congratulations Danny! Danny has a 4.56 GPA at Hanover High, where he is the Team Captain of the Tennis, Golf and JV Basketball Teams. Danny volunteers his time in the community as the Assistant Coach of the Oak Knoll Girls Tennis Team, the Head Coach of the Hanover Youth Basketball Summer League, and as a member of the SPDA (Student Organization for Developing Attitudes). He has served over 200 hours of community service through numerous organizations. Congratulations to our 2st nominee this year – John Fiorelli of St. Christopher’s School! John has a 4.0 GPA, and is the Team Captain, Linebacker and Tight End of his school’s Varsity Football team. He was also the Team Captain and Forward of his Varsity & JV Basketball teams. John has served in leadership positions as Student Council Treasurer & Class Representative, and on the School Disciplinary Committee at St. Christoper’s. John has volunteered his time in the community as a Boy Scout & Eagle Scout Troop Leader, Sunday School Teacher, and Peer Advisor. He recently attended a mission trip to Malawi, Africa. Congratulations to our 1st nominee this year – Daisy Banta of Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School for Government and International Studies! Daisy has a 4.4 GPA and is in the National, Science, Spanish, English, Math and American Sign Language Honor Societies! She has served as her Sophomore Class President, and in other leadership positions outside of school, with Relay for Life, Student Ambassadors and Global Citizen Corps, among others. Daisy is an avid runner, having participated in numerous regional meets in Cross Country, Indoor & Outdoor track–and served as team captain for all three sports. Daisy has generously volunteered her time through the following organizations: Student Ambassadors, Relay for Life, Richmond Animal Care & Control and Maggie Walker.
