Lexus of Richmond is proud to present our Leadership Award Scholarship week 22 nominee, Ralph Levy from St. Christopher’s School. With a 4.5 GPA, he is in the top 5 of his class. He has been on the high honors list every year, and he is an AP Scholar with Honors. During sophomore year Ralph received a History Research Paper Award. In 2017 he was chosen to attend the Summer Residential Governor’s School Program for Math, Science and Technology at Lynchburg College. Ralph has been selected by St. Chris faculty for the William’s College Book Award and the UNC Morehead-Cain Scholarship.
While attending St. Chris, Ralph was a member of the JV Wrestling team as a freshman and the Varsity team as a senior. Having not wrestled in two years, the Richmond Times Dispatch ranked him the #1 heavyweight wrestler in the city. This season the team won its’ 17th consecutive Prep League Championship and then won their 12th State Championship. The team is for the 1st time in school history ranked #1 in the state. Ralph won the heavyweight division at the VA Prep League State Championship and was the runner up at the VISAA State Championship. As a two year member of the Varsity Football team, Ralph played center-offensive line. During these two seasons, the team won a Prep League Championship, earned a #2 ranking in the state and finished in the state semi-finals.
During his time in high school, Ralph has co-founded a student run group called MIND or Mental Illness Needs Discussion. After seeing close friends go through depression, he and another student co-founded and now run the discussion group. Ralph is a four year member of the Beaux Ties, a student run a cappella group at St. Chris, and he is a member of the jazz band playing the saxophone. Ralph is a member of the student council and is a peer advisor to assist freshmen in their transition into high school. He has even held medical internships with both an orthopedic surgeon and a vascular surgeon.
Over the past three summers, Ralph has acquired over 100 hours of volunteer work as a junior sailing instructor. With the Fishing Bay Yacht Club, he has assisted young children learn how to sail at week long camps. Ralph has also given 35 hours to Feedmore – Virginia Foodbank and Meals on Wheels. This time has been spent packing/preparing and delivering meals to those in need in the Richmond area.
Ralph has won a dinner for two and is now in the running for the $10,000 scholarship.
