Lexus of Richmond’s 24th Leadership Award Week 14 – Hannah Ballowe


Lexus of Richmond would like to present Hannah Ballowe of St. Catherine’s School as our week 14 nominee for the Leadership Award Scholarship. With her current 3.99 GPA she has been on the Honor Roll every year. As a freshman Hannah won the Peace Essay Contest. Hannah also was a National Latin Exam Cum Laude Scorer.

During her time at St. Catherine’s, Hannah has been involved in several student groups. She started an American Sign Language Club at the school. She is also a member of the Chemistry Club and the Medical Club. Hannah is the editor of the school paper “The Arcadian”. Before senior year, Hannah attended the United States Air Force Academy Summer Seminar. Outside of school functions Hannah has worked as a lifeguard at Burkwood Aquatics Club and Richmond Quarry Club.

A Varsity Indoor/Outdoor Track team member since 8th grade, Hannah was named a captain for junior and senior year. She ran Varsity Cross Country as a junior and senior, and she also played Varsity Field Hockey in 9th and 10th grade. Hannah is a 6 time LIS Champion for Outdoor Track: twice for the 4x400m, twice for the 1600m, and twice for the 800m. She is an 8 time LIS Champion for Indoor Track: three times for the 4x400m, twice for the 1600m, and three times for the 1000m. Hannah is an eight time VISAA State Champ in Outdoor Track and a six time VISAA State Champ in Indoor Track. For both cross country and track, Hannah has been selected to the All LIS 1st Team 7 times and the All VISAA State 1st Team 8 times. Hannah has been recognized as a 1st Team All Metro selection by the Richmond Times Dispatch over 19 times for indoor track, outdoor track and cross country. She is a school record holder in the following events: indoor track 4x400m; outdoor track 4x400m, 400m, 800m; cross country 5k. Hannah was named the LIS Championships Runner of the Meet in 2017 and 2018 for indoor track. Hannah was the VISAA Track and Field State Meet MVP in 2017 and 2018 for both indoor and outdoor track.

Hannah has given time to a number of community service projects over her high school years. She has volunteered for the ReeseStrong 5K. Hannah has helped lead a youth track summer camp. She has worked with FeedMore and RVA Girl Talk. Additionally Hannah has participated in events with Housing Families First and with Sacred Heart Center.

Hannah has won a dinner for two and is now in the running for the $10,000 scholarship.
