Lexus of Richmond’s 25th Leadership Award, Week 10 – Jeanne Wolkiewicz

Lexus of Richmond’s 10th scholar athlete nominated for the Leadership Award Scholarship is Jeanne Wolkiewicz of Powhatan High School. Ranked 2nd in her class with a 4.4818 GPA, Jeanne is a member of the National Honor Society as well as the English & Computer Science Honor Societies. She has been recognized as both an AP Scholar with Honors and an AP Scholar with Distinction. Jeanne has received the title Algebra 2 Honors Outstanding Student. She has been named the Student of the Year for: AP Environmental Science, AP Computer Science Principles, and AP Psychology. Jeanne was a Junior Marshall for Powhatan, and she has received the William and Mary Leadership Award.

While at Powhatan Jeanne has been involved in her school community as a Class Officer for both her junior and senior years. She is a Co-Founder of the Powhatan High School Planeteers. She serves as a Powhatan High School Interactive Ambassador. Jeanne was a World Language Fair Speaker. Jeanne was selected to be a Delegate at the American Legion Auxiliary Girls State. She has served as Chair and Co-Chair of the Environmental Youth Council of Virginia.

Throughout her high school years, Jeanne has played for FC Richmond Mystx U19 and U17 as an outside back. She additionally was selected for the FC Richmond Pro 23. Jeanne was a captain for the Fury FC U16. She also played for the Fury FC U15 team as an outside midfield. In 2017 and 2018 Jeanne was a part of the Virginia State Olympic Development Program (ODP), and she was the captain for 2018. She then participated in ODP’s International Tour and North American Tour. Jeanne will continue her soccer career was she has committed to play for Bryn Mawr College.

Throughout her high school years, Jeanne has given time to her community through various causes and organizations. She is a tutor through Powhatan Indians Tutoring Together (P.I.T.T.). She has volunteered for RAM (Remote Medical Area) Clinic in Wise, Virginia. She serves as an Acolyte at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, and Jeanne volunteers for St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Emmaus Lunches. She has given time to the War Memorial Cultural Arts and Community Center Craft and Vendor Show. Jeanne has assisted the Powhatan Chamber of Commerce through both Powhatan’s Festival of the Grape and the Village Vibe Concerts. She has volunteered for the PHS Alpha Delta Kappa Santa Breakfast. Jeanne also spends time with YMCA for their Youth Summer Soccer Clinic and as a Triathlon Marshall.

Jeanne has won a dinner for two and is now in the running for the $25,000 scholarship.
