8. Renee Bosetti

Lexus of Richmond’s 8th scholar athlete nominee for the Leadership Award Scholarship is Renee Bosetti from Saint Gertrude High School. She currently has a 4.25 GPA having received First Honors on her report card all throughout high school. During her junior year, Renee was selected as the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Medal Recipient for outstanding achievement in math and science. For the National Spanish Exam, Renee received a bronze medal as a freshman (level 2) and a honorable mention as a junior (level 4). As a sophomore Renee was named the Honors Chemistry Student of the Year. During her junior year, Renee was selected Student of the Year for Honors Biology, United States History and Honors Spanish 4.

In her time at Saint Gertrude, Renee has been involved in multiple student groups and organizations. She is currently Student Cooperative Association Class Representative, and she was the Class Vice President for 9th, 10th and 11th grade. Renee is a three year member of the World Language Club and a two year member of the Spirit Club. As a senior, Renee became a Peer Tutor for both Spanish and Math.

As a four year Varsity Volleyball starter, Renee is a two time captain for Saint Gertrude. Following her junior season she was named to the All Conference Team, and she was named the MVP of her team. Outside of school, Renee is also a member of the Williamsburg Volleyball Club Travel Team. In 2017 she was the captain for the Club 15 National team. For 2018 she was on the Club 16 National team and as a senior she was on the Club 17 National team.

Renee has volunteered her time to her local community through several outlets. Over the summer of 2018 and 2019, she was a Memorial Regional Medical Center Student Volunteer. During her senior year, she will be spending time at the medical center on the weekends as well. She regularly gives her time to school service projects such as; the blood drive, ushering school plays, and setting up for events. As a freshman and sophomore Renee volunteered in the food concession stands for the St. Benedict Oktoberfest.

Renee has won a dinner for two and is now in the running for the $25,000 scholarship.
