Pursuit of Perfection Week 22-Claire Robinson

Claire RobinsonLexus of Richmond’s Week 22 nominee for the Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award is Claire Robinson from The Math and Science Specialty Center at Clover Hill High School. She began her athletic career with soccer. However, after suffering from some concussions, she had to switch to Cross Country and Track & Field where she still excelled and earned many awards, like MVP of Indoor/Outdoor Track. On the academic side, she has a 4.52 GPA and is a member of the Distinguished Honor Roll, several National Honor Societies, and has been awarded the Math and Science Outstanding Achievement Award.

Claire’s community service includes working with the Richmond Animal League on their Dog Team, being a SAFE Teen Ambassador, and working for many other larger organizations like Angel Tree and Relay for Life. She is hoping to attend the University of Virginia, The College of William and Mary, or Virginia Tech.

Pursuit of Perfection Week 21-Emma Call

Lexus of Richmond’s Week 21 nominee for the Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award is Emma Call from Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School. Emma has made a big impact in athletics and extra curriculars at Maggie Walker Governor’s School and is involved in the National Honor Society and the National Italian Honor Society. She is also an artist, and has won the Gold Key Scholastic Art and Writing Award for Drawing and Illustration. As the Captain of the Maggie Walker Cross Country Team, she has achieved being the Cross Country 2A State Champion. For Indoor and Outdoor track, she has also achieved many awards in the 1600m, 1000m, and 800m competitions. She is a Co-Founder and President for the Maggie Walker Student Health Club.

In community service, she participates with many organizations, including Hands on Greater Richmond, the James River Association, CARITAS and the Maymont Foundation. Emma is committed to run at the University of Virginia starting this fall.

Pursuit of Perfection Week 20-Jake Sitison

Lexus of Richmond is now in its 20th week for the Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award and Jake Sitison from Douglas S. Freeman High School is the nominee. He is a senior with a GPA of 5.04, is a member of the National Honor Society, and he has earned an AP Scholar with Distinction award for his high scores on his AP exams. He is a member of the Varsity Wrestling Team, and has earned the second runner up position at the Central Virginia Classic when he was in the 11th grade.

For extra-curriculars, he is a member of four bands at Douglas Freeman High School: the Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, and Concert Band, with the Euphonium as his instrument of choice. As an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America he participates in many community service projects, including an Eagle Scout project with the Richmond K9. He is planning to major in Chemical Engineering when he moves on to his undergraduate studies.

Pursuit of Perfection Week 19-Jordan Lipinski

Lexus of Richmond’s week 19 nominee for the Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award is Jordan Lipinski from Lee-Davis High School. With a GPA of 4.583, she not only holds awards for her academics, she also holds awards for her character. Jordan has received two Core Value Awards for Responsibility and Accountability.

For the community she is very active in the service projects through National Honor Society, Interact club, and Beta Club, where she earned the Certificate for Outstanding Service.  As Captain of the Student Organization for Developing Attitudes, she works with 4th graders and discusses self-confidence, how to handle conflict, and many other factors that a student may encounter. For athletics, she is the Captain of both the Varsity Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field, and she has achieved many records and awards for her Pole Vaulting. She is committed to William and Mary, where she will participate in Track and Field.

Pursuit of Perfection Week 18-Sam Cuthbert

Lexus of Richmond’s week 18 nominee for the Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award is Sam Cuthbert from Collegiate School. He has a GPA of 4.26 and holds many awards for his academics, including being a Scholastic All-America Team Member for USA Swimming. Currently, he is the captain of the Varsity Swim Team at Collegiate, and is a four time varsity letter winner. Sam is also in the 2016 Olympic Trials Qualifier for his 200 backstroke. He has many records under his name for swimming, which include the 100 backstroke for Collegiate, and the VA State Age Group Record Holder for the 200 Medley Relay and 200 Free Relay.

As a volunteer for Collegiate’s Oak Grove Bellemeade Project, he assists in tutoring students whose first language is Spanish, and helping them become more comfortable with the English language and their academics in general. He is also a volunteer for Collegiate’s Open Swim Program. He is committed to attending Princeton, and will be swimming on the Men’s Swim Team.

Pursuit of Perfection Week 17-Phuong Dao

Lexus of Richmond’s week 17 nominee for the Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award is Phuong Dao from Mills E. Godwin High School. With an impressive GPA of 4.95, she also holds many awards for her academic achievements including the National, French, and Math Honor Societies. She is also an AP Scholar with Honors and she holds a UVA Ridley Book Award.

She is passionate about the arts and music. Phuong is a figure skater with aspirations to attend the Olympics, and is a talented pianist and harpist. Community service is also a major part of her life, and she often volunteers with Make-A-Wish, Skate for Babies (March of Dimes), and with various skating competitions and hospitals. She is hoping to become a doctor and is considering attending Princeton, UVA, VCU’s Guaranteed Medical Program, and UCCS.

Pursuit of Perfection Week 16-Annie Snead

Lexus of Richmond’s Week 16 nominee for the Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award is Annie Snead from Trinity Episcopal School. With a GPA of 4.1, Annie has achieved being on the Headmaster’s List every semester she’s been attending Trinity. The National Honors Society and The National Spanish Honors Society are also two other academic organizations she is a member of.

Field Hockey is her focus, and she has been on the Varsity Team during all four years of her high school career. She also plays lacrosse, and has played basketball and indoor hockey. She will be attending William and Mary in the fall where she will play field hockey. Sports is her passion, and her volunteer work with children and their involvement in sports reflects that. She has been a volunteer coach for Stars of Tomorrow and for Panthers United. For an extracurricular, she is also a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and has been an officer for three out of four years.
