Congratulations to Molly Shields from Atlee High School, our week 2 nominee for the 2014-15 Lexus of Richmond Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award!
With a 4.59 GPA, Molly has received numerous academic awards and honors, including the William and Mary Leadership Award and the National Academy for Future Physicians and Medical Scientists Award of Excellence. She was selected for the Medicine and Health Service’s Governors School Program at VCU, is a member of the National and Latin National Honor Societies, Debate Team (district winner), Beta Club, and has held the positions of Secretary of her Senior Class and Honor Council. On the field, Molly is a district finalist Track and Field Varsity Runner, the captain of the Atlee High School Varsity Soccer Team as well as the Elite of Richmond Kickers Travel Club, 1st Team All District, All Regional and All-Metro Soccer Player and was a District Champion in 2012 and 2013. Outside of school, she is a SODA leader, and is active in the medical field as an Emergency Medical Technician- president of the EMS Junior Squad. She is active in church as a first grade Sunday School teacher and as Catholic Retreat Team Leader for all of Central Virginia. She has volunteered her time for a number of programs and services, including Feed the Hungry with St. Ann’s Youth Group, Haiti Youth Missions and Committee, Bright Beginnings with the Hanover Youth Service Council (HYSC) and Camp Hope for Kids.
Molly has won a dinner for two at Fleming’s Steakhouse and is now in the running for the $10,000 scholarship.
