Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award Nominee Week # 24 – Allison Burns from Hanover High School.

Congratulations Allison Burns from Hanover High School, our week 24 nominee for the Lexus of Richmond Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award!


With a 4.61 GPA, Allison has excelled academically, earning accolades such as the West Point Leadership Award, Hanover Academic Award, and the Hanover Scholars County Academic Achievement Award for seniors. She is also a Horatio Alger Scholar, QuestBridge Finalist, IB Diploma candidate, member of the National Honor Society, French National Honor Society and International Thespian Honor Society. She is also active outside of the classroom as (among others) president of the French Club, a Guidance/Admin assistant, DECA member, SODA member, member of the Student Council Association/Leadership Council, and member of the 7th UP program. With a passion for running, Allison has received numerous awards for cross country and indoor/outdoor track and field. Captain of her varsity cross country team, she has earned the titles of MVP, All-Region Academic, All-Conference Academic, State Competitor, Most Improved and the Academic Athlete Award. For both indoor and outdoor track and field she is team captain and recipient of the Leadership Award and Academic Athlete Award, and earned the titles of All-Region Academic runner, All-Conference Academic runner, All-Conference pole-vaulter, State Competitor, and Conference Champ. She is also a Playing with a Purpose Scholar Athlete, for which she was one of only four chosen out of over 6,000 candidates. Allison is very active in the community having participated in a number of programs, including the Hurricane Sandy Emergency Disaster Relief Outreach, Homeless Ministry in Monroe Park, Robinson Theater of Richmond, a Leadership Development Internship, and mission trips for the homeless, to name a few.

Allison plans to major in Biology and Leadership Studies to pursue her life-long goal of becoming a Pediatrician.

Allison has won a dinner for two at Fleming’s Steakhouse and is now in the running for the $10,000 scholarship.
