Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award Nominee Week #26 – Genevieve Pacious from Douglas Southall Freeman High School.

Congratulations Genevieve Pacious from Douglas Southall Freeman High School, our week 26 nominee for the Lexus of Richmond Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award!

Genevieve has excelled academically as an AP Scholar with Honors with a 5.06 GPA, a recipient of the George Eastman Young Leaders Award, and as a member of the National Beta Club, National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Tri M Music Honor Society, and the Mu Alpha Theta National Mathematics Honor Society. Active in her school, she is the historian of the Douglas Southall Freeman (DSF) Rebelettes, and member of the DSF Human Rights Club, Spanish Club, Beta Club and Honor Society. Gifted musically, she is captain of the DSF show choir, has been All-District Chorus for the past three years, was named DSF Outstanding Choral Student, recipient of the Festival of Choirs Outstanding Showmanship Award and the Richmond Music Teacher Association Certificate of Excellence, and has been playing the piano for ten years for which she has been rated “Superior Plus” by the National Guild of Piano Teachers. Genevieve is captain of her varsity soccer team which was HCPS All-Academic All-Conference and All-Conference, and also plays for the Richmond Strikers Elite U18G travel team and for the Greater Richmond Futsal League. On the track, she has been named All-District for 800m relay and All-District for 500m. Genevieve is very active in the community and spends her time volunteering for and participating in a number of programs, including the CrossOver Health Center, Baltimore Homeless Outreach, CARITAS, Special Olympics, Susan B Komen Race for the Cure, Camp Holiday Trails, Refugee Sports Outreach Missions, Haiti Outreach Mission, and as a young life ministries mentor and a vacation Bible school teacher, among others.

Genevieve plans to attend Wake Forest University.

Genevieve has won a dinner for two at Fleming’s Steakhouse and is now in the running for the $10,000 scholarship.
