Lexus of Richmond Leadership Award Week 1 – Jackson Barkstrom


Lexus of Richmond’s Leadership Award week 1 nominee is Jackson Barkstrom from St. Christopher’s School. Currently ranked number 1 in his class, Jackson has an overall 4.7 GPA, is a National Merit Semifinalist, and a Jefferson Scholar Nominee at St. Christopher’s. During his junior year, he received the Harvard Book Award and is an AP Scholar with Distinction.

Jackson is the captain of St. Christopher’s varsity tennis team, and is ranked #1 in doubles and #2 in singles. Also, the team are reigning back to back State Champions from 2015 and 2016. In 2015, Jackson was undefeated in singles play for his school. In May 2015, he was the Davenport Richmond Junior Open Champion for the 18s division singles. Outside of athletics, Jackson is involved in school organizations such as: Political Awareness Club (Secretary), and Students for Environmental Awareness (Vice President).

In the summer of 2015, Jackson went abroad to China with a small group of other students. While there they organized lesson plans and taught English to elementary aged children in villages. He has also been a part of groups such as Kids Serving Kids and Shiver in the River.

Jackson has won a dinner for two and is now in the running for the $10,000 scholarship.
