Lexus of Richmond’s Leadership Award Scholarship nominee is Tatum Kendall of Deep Run High School. With a 4.2 GPA, during her junior year, Tatum was inducted into her school’s National Honor Society, Math Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, and the Beta Honor Roll Society.
Having been on the team all four years of high school, Tatum has been the varsity volleyball captain since 10th grade and voted the most valuable player during her junior year. She received many accolades while on the team such as: All District Team, Honorable Mention in 9th grade and All Region, Honorable Mention in 10th grade. During 10th and 11th grade, she was named to the All Conference, First Team. Also during her junior year, she was a part of the All Region, Second Team. Outside of athletics, Tatum has been involved in numerous clubs as well as student government throughout all four years of school. She was her class President in 9th and 10th grade, the student body Vice President in 11th grade, and currently the student body President.
She has been active in multiple diverse, worthy causes. Tatum was recently the co-chair for Pink-Out, a Susan G. Komen fundraiser. Raising money for breast cancer research, the group collected over $3,200. In 2015, she was a volunteer volleyball coach for low income children at the Eastern Henrico Recreation Center. She also volunteered at the YMCA as a summer camp counselor.
Tatum has won a dinner for two and is now in the running for the $10,000 scholarship.
